Last Sunday was the Ashmei Ullswater 20 Mile Trail Race which ran round Ullswater in the Lake District. Clydesdale Harrier Marina McCallum travelled down to take part and finished the tough course as first female in a time of 3.59.50.

The previous Tuesday was the club’s own Sinclair Trophy over 5.4 miles. Results soon.

The previous Sunday was the Torbay Half Marathon which had Hylda Stewart running well to finish in 1.52.58. Also that day was the second in the CSSAL Division 1 track and field from Grangemouth Stadium. Harriers young and old took part with excellent results. The final meeting is at Kilmarnock on 31st August.

Two days earlier was the Calderglen Trail Races in East Kilbride. Anne Murray ran the 5k and finished as second female in a time of 21.39. She then ran the 10k straight after the 5k and finished in a time of 50.39. Hugh Laverty finished the 10k in 43.23, and Colin Gray finished in 56.44.

The SVHC 5k was also that week in Clydebank Business Park. Fastest harrier was Hugh Laverty (19.18), followed by Pamela McCrossan (19.41), Paul McKendry (20.10), Bobby Young (20.13), Gus Cairney (20.55), Marina McCallum (22.31), and Watson Jones (22.37).
